Christopher Maikish will join performers Sally Struthers, Barrett Foa, Daniel Tatar and THE COMPANY MEN, American Idol’s LaToya London, Alet Taylor, Christine Horn, Charlene Modeste, Jeffrey Landman, Nell Teare, Cesili Williams, Constance Lopez, Terrance Spencer with Special Guest Artists to be announced!

The evening also honors Emmy-award winning actor Leslie Jordan with the first ever Celebration Theatre Vibrant Voice Award, which is given to an artist for being an outspoken ally for Celebration Theatre and the LGBT arts community in Los Angeles.

CASTING: Chris to star in “Merrily We Roll Along” at Covina Center for Performing Arts, Fall 2012

Chris will be joining the cast of Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along in the central role of Franklin Shepard at the beautiful Covina Center for the Performing Arts in September 2012. The show will be directed and choreographed by Ovation Award winner Cate Caplin. This will be his third production of the musical to date, most recently an “excellent” stand-in (LA WEEKLY) for this leading role with Hollywood’s Actors Co-Op in fall 2010.

Chris brings leading man and real life reporter Karl Decker to life in this new musical about the legendary theft of the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in 1911. Music and lyrics by David Arkenstone and Wayne Moore, book by Steven Vlasak. Tues 2/21 8pm at NoHo Arts Center.

CONCERT: Gil Garfield Tribute, “Black Denim Trousers”

Chris joins a cast of Broadway performers in a featured role for Black Denim Trousers, a biographical musical reading of the life and career of Gil Garfield, singer in the 1950s group, The Cheers (an act that began Bert Convy’s career). The reading takes place Saturday 1/7 at the LA Gay & Lesbian Center in Hollywood, directed by Iona Morris and produced by Sharlene Cooper Cohen.

Christopher will be performing a leading role in the upcoming concert reading of the new musical, The Angel of Painted Post, with book by Adrian Bewley, music by Matthew Levine, and lyrics by Richard Castle. Produced by ANMT (Academy for New Musical Theatre) and featuring members of the Academy Repertory Company, with Ross Kalling at the piano and Scott Guy directing. At the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood on Monday, December 12th at 7:30pm.

Mr. Maikish will be reading the role of Matt, a tortured guy in a powerful fable about an unlikely vision in an even more unlikely town.

Guest appearance at Sterling’s Upstairs (11/6/11)

Christopher made a guest appearance for some duets and a group number at Sterling’s Upstairs for crooner Paul Marchegiani’s Night & Day cabaret on Sunday, November 6th. One of the more unexpected moments for the audience was Christopher performing the infamously fast patter from “Not Getting Married” (Company by Stephen Sondheim), usually sung by an actress. Christopher wins StageSceneLA Award for The Next Fairy Tale
